About Me
Hello! My name is Kaia. I am originally from Pennsylvania and have lived in Colorado for the last three years, enjoying the mountains and learning about the unique flora and fauna within this landscape. As a counselor, my mission is to provide a supportive and affirming environment in which meaningful change is not only conceptualized but realized. I aim to offer insightful counseling that is validating, encouraging, and challenging enough to facilitate growth.
I have provided assessment and support services to children and adults with various chronic diseases and neurodevelopmental disabilities, assisted college students to achieve their academic goals, and helped individuals heal from traumatic experiences, including substance abuse and domestic violence.
I incorporate aspects of psychodynamic theory and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into my work, resulting in an integrated therapeutic approach. I believe that understanding our deeply ingrained thoughts and perceptions can help us identify growth areas and appreciate the present moment. Thriving and empowerment are both possible when we explore, understand, and confront our experiences
